This year the PETA Pack will raise money specifically for cruelty investigation work.  Every time I visit the big PETA building in Norfolk I try to have a working lunch with these staffers.  They like the pizza.  I like being in the same room with them.  So we’re all happy.  If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would not only donate to this team of angels, I would also buy them pizza lunches every day for the next 10 years.  They do what the rest of us can’t (or won’t).  They get hundreds of calls a week, all day and all night, holidays and weekends.  They hear first-hand about animals in pain.  Dogs left out on chains after being hit by a car.  Pregnant cats, starving, kicked by the neighbor.  Horses unable to walk.  Cows walking around with broken legs and no vet care.  Every day they hear how horrible people are to animals, and every day they help.  They drive out in storms to rescue animals.  They euthanize the dying animal at midnight because the local vet refused to do it for free, and the guardians have no money (and then they get yelled at for euthanizing—by the same people who breed animals and force society to euthanize).  They deliver dry straw and warm doghouses on their days off.  They get covered in poop and mud and vomit.  They hold the dying cat in their arms so she can finally, for the first time, experience kindness.  They make sure the animal abusers get prosecuted. They do all this and so much more…and they do it day after day after day.  Their work is never in the media, they don’t get thanked, they don’t get celebrities doing photo shoots with them.  J  THAT is why I’m running this year.  Please donate to my page so that we can help the cruelty investigation team.  If you donate, I’ll run.  Everything you donate goes right to the work these most excellent and brave people do.   They need the funds to pay for free spay/neuters, medical supplies, straw and doghouses, legal work, and more.  Thank you!!
