Thank you for taking the time to stop by my fundraising page.
As some of you know, I have had a few struggles with my health on and off through my mid-twenties. In an effort to quit all the medicines, I started paying attention to my diet and learning about the things I ate.
I watched a movie by Morgan Spurlock, SuperSize Me. You may have heard of it. At the end of the movie, his girlfriend put him on a diet to return him to good health. I was intrigued. I tried her diet. Soon, I was off all medications and feeling better than I had in years.
When people learned about my diet, they started calling me vegan...
I then started learning about what vegan meant. PETA had lots of great resources, recipes and information that had never crossed my mind before.
I've never had a real opportunity to thank them for my road back to health. But I saw an e-mail for the PETA Pack. It was a group of people that shared not only my diet, but my love of running. I was excited at the chance to meet and train with others who share my interest.
Unfortunately, I am the only one in my Pack running the full marathon (26.2 miles), so I train alone. It hasn't been the experience I thought it would be. But it's nice to give high-fives to my fellow runners while I'm on my way back and they're on their way out for our long runs.
I was recently injured at work and have been unable to run or train. While that has been a bit discouraging, I am healing and will still run the full marathon for PETA Pack at the end of March.
If you've made it to the end of my letter, I truly appreciate all your time. If you can donate a few dollars toward my goal, I would not only be grateful, but encouraged. It is a tax-deductible gift.
Our group is raising money specifically for investigations into animal cruelty.
With lots of love,
Jenna.
